Are you passionate about digging into data? Do you thrive when collaborating with a team to understand how data can inform decision making? The Manager role will support the Harvard Business School's (HBS) MBA Program team’s efforts to better understand and connect data across the program.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, MBA Institutional Research, this new role will work closely with MBA staff to develop data collection and reporting tools, analyze information about the academic program and student experiences, as well as design, build, and maintain business intelligence reports.

Successful candidates will have knowledge of data reporting tools and software; strong analytic and communication skills with the ability to aggregate and track multiple feedback mechanisms; strong attention to detail; and curiosity to ask questions in order to improve the way the MBA program analyses and share its data.


Position Description

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, develop, and deploy business intelligence reports from the school’s data warehouse
  • Collaborate with key constituents, leveraging knowledge of business intelligence tools and working within the requirements of the MBA team and the HBS IT infrastructure
  • Train and correspond with MBA staff who need guidance using business intelligence tools
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience is required.
  • Education beyond high school may count toward experience.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) experience is a must.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud, including development with SQL Experience with Tableau, dashboard design and delivery
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • The ability to work independently on analytic projects as well as on a team for projects with broader scope

Additional Information

This position is approved as a term appointment with an end date of 06/30/25. There is a possibility of renewal/extension.

This is a 40 hours/week, overtime-eligible position.

This role is offered as a hybrid (some combination of onsite and remote) where you are required to be onsite at our Boston, MA based campus 3 days per week. Specific days and schedule will be determined between you and your manager.

We may conduct candidate interviews virtually (phone and/or via Zoom) and/or in-person for this role.
