Position Summary:
Second level position within the maintenance specialist series; perform a variety of advanced standard facility and ground maintenance duties and tasks to include basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs; may support and interact with other department personnel. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
* RELATED WORK - Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
* MAINTENANCE - Monitor, trouble shoot and repair/adjust thermostats and facility systems as required; request qualified personnel for repairs as appropriate
* RESPONSE TEAMS - Participate in Fire-Brigade-Response Team and child abduction programs; participate in annual competency reviews, tests and in-services
* ASSISTANCE - Assist other department personnel as needed
* MAINTENANCE - Perform a variety of advance standard facility and ground maintenance duties and tasks to include minor repairs to electrical, plumbing, ventilation and cooling systems
* MAINTENANCE - Assist with moving office and/or patient furniture to include arranging and setting up as needed
* MAINTENANCE - Perform minor building exterior and interior caulking, patching, texturing and painting; monitor and repair lawn sprinkler systems

* Valid New Mexico Driver's License
* UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit w/in 60 days
Physical Conditions:
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
