Description of Work Unit | Housing & Dining Services (HDS) is a multifaceted auxiliary organization responsible for management of on-campus housing facilities, residential dining, conferences, and the CSU Mountain Campus. Other areas within HDS include the RamCard Office, communications, sustainability, facilities, human resources, technology services, workplace education, and business services. Approximately 450 full-time staff and 1,700 hourly and student staff serve the nearly 8,000 students who live on campus, in addition to other campus and community guests. Our priority is providing our residents and guests with safe living environments, quality dining, and exceptional out-of-classroom experiences. We accomplish this through sound fiscal and operational management strategies, and an emphasis on the development of programs and services that are designed to enhance personal growth and global engagement. Position Summary | Due to exceptional demand for on-campus housing during the Fall 2022 semester, temporary student housing has been developed at the Best Western. The Live-In Staff Position Off Campus Temporary Housing is a temporary live-in, paraprofessional non-student hourly staff member that serves the residents of this temporary housing community. The position will build a community inclusive of all students, help residents create and sustain connections with their neighbors and campus, as well as facilitate the creation of a positive experience which supports students’ transition, academic, and personal success. This position will engage in critical thinking and problem-solving to address community needs, and to provide support to residents. The position is a 20 hour per week position, and the two individuals hired for this position will alternate weeks during which they will live in a provided suite at the Best Western. One suite room at the Best Western will be shared by the two individuals in this position for use during the weeks that they are living there. |
