This position may be required to lift boxes up to 50 pounds, work with older news print and microfilm, and sit for long periods viewing computer screens.

Job Summary
The University of Kentucky is actively seeking a project manager for the National Digital Newspaper Program at the University of Kentucky Libraries. Responsibilities for this role will include the oversight of the project; managing workflows, project statistics, and project documentation; quality assurance, communication and monitoring vendor progress; researching and writing title essays and presentation materials about the project; and serving as a key member of the UK NDNP Team.
Additionally, the NDNP project manager will be responsible for the 100,000-page deliverable data to the Library of Congress’ Chronicling America national database of digitized historic newspapers; attending the annual NDNP meetings and networking with other NDNP awardee staff; providing project updates and statistics for granting agency reports; hiring and supervising student assistants where applicable.
This position is grant funded, with funding estimated for this position through the project end date of August 31, 2025

Windows, Adobe Creative Suite apps, imaging apps, XML apps, NDNP DVV, workflow management apps (like Notion, Trello, etc)

Preferred Education/Experience
Master’s degree in Library Science with experience and/or training in project management, technological proficiencies, and digitization.
