The Opportunity

The Department of Counselor Education and School Psychology in the College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure earning lecturer position in the School Psychology program, anticipated to begin Fall 2024. This position is located on the Orlando main campus and summer teaching may be available.

The selected candidate will contribute to the School Psychology program’s mission by teaching a variety of graduate level courses, advising students, and supervising practicum and internship students. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual with strong teaching, supervision, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities may include:

• Teach graduate courses, supervise practicum and/or internship activities, advise graduate students, and assist with planning program activities.

• Adhere to current NASP professional standards. 

• Adhere to current NASP standards for graduate preparation of School Psychologists.

• Participate in service and leadership activities at the department, university, and professional organization level. 

• Provide presentations or publications at national, regional, or local conferences regarding professional School Psychology topics.

• Work with and support students and faculty in the School Psychology program.

The School Psychology program in CCIE offers an Ed.S. degree and is accredited by the state of Florida and approved by the National Association of School Psychologists. Minimum Qualifications:

A doctorate in school, clinical, or counseling psychology from an accredited institution or a doctorate in education from an accredited institution with state certification as a school psychologist in the state of Florida.

The selected candidate must also:

• Be licensed or license-eligible as a school psychologist or psychologist in the state of Florida.

• Have identifiable potential to teach intellectual, academic, and social-emotional assessment courses in school psychology (such as through supervision of field-based school psychology students).

• Have identifiable potential for excellence in teaching, service, and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Earned a doctoral degree from a NASP Approved/Accredited or APA Accredited School Psychology program OR doctorate in education with state certification as a school psychologist AND experience teaching at the university level.

• Eligible for NCSP certification.

• Experience working as a school psychologist in pre-K-12 school and/or university-clinic settings.

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching school psychology courses for diverse student populations.

• Experience in clinical supervision.

• Ability to work effectively with linguistically, ethnically, or other diverse populations.

• Active membership(s) in professional organization(s).

• Evidence of leadership in professional school psychology organizations.
