Brief Summary of Job Description
The Cyber Systems Department is seeking a lecturer or professor (tenure-track assistant or associate), dependent upon credentials and experience, to begin August 2024.
Job Duties
The Department is looking for a passionate teacher for the Cyber Security Operations (CSO) program in one or more of the following emerging technical areas: physical/virtualized networking, systems administration, offensive/defensive security, cellular/wireless technologies, cyber law/policy, and Internet of Things/embedded systems. The CSO programs have developed strong relationships within the local business community through their internship programs and emphasis on experiential courses. Teaching responsibilities may be in one or more of the areas listed above. Research and publication appropriate for the mission of the University are required in a related field in addition to service to the program, department, university, and community.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree for lecturer; terminal degree for tenure track assistant or associate professor. Degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, computer science education, or a closely related field is required. ABD candidates may be considered. Applicants must have strong communication skills and demonstrate a substantial track record or significant potential for teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical expertise through research or industry experience in embedded systems/Internet of Things, virtualized networking, systems administration, forensics, and/or offensive/defensive security is highly desirable as is Palo Alto Academy, Cisco Networking Academy, Amazon Education, or similar teaching or industry qualifications. Related technical experience in cellular, wireless technologies, or reverse engineering is a plus. Additional desirable experience preferred includes online teaching and curriculum development, external fundraising, grant writing, fostering and maintaining industry partnerships, preparing assessment/accreditation materials, and facilitating an advisory committee.
