Position Summary
The Learning Design Program Manager in Strategic Cultural Partnerships (SCP) plans, leads, manages, and implements education initiatives in the Learning & Design (LeaD) Lab. This position takes a lead role in designing, building, and assessing online, hybrid, and in-person professional development programs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Serves as the project lead in adult and professional online microlearning, working with W&M faculty, subject matter experts, and key project stakeholders to design, develop, and evaluate new courses, strategically growing the program and portfolio aligned with the mission and vision of W&M, SCP, and the LeaD Lab.
  • Manages all aspects of a project, including project planning and development, coordination and oversight of collaborators and student interns, and reporting regularly to SCP leadership.
  • Oversees and coordinates a range of programs including K-12 curriculum development, teacher professional development, and partnerships with museums in addition to the microlearning program.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in instructional/learning design, education, educational technology, or a similar field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of teaching and learning theory, pedagogy, and instructional design methodologies.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, teamwork, organization, and the capacity for iterative feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success in developing professional learning in web-based environments.
  • Working knowledge of skills, tools, processes, and best practices used in the development and delivery of web-based learning.
  • Experience in creating broadly accessible learning resources.
  • Experience with video, audio, multimedia, or similar educational technologies.
  • Experience mentoring and managing student workers.
  • Experience coaching and supporting faculty or other subject matter experts through course design and development.
  • Experience in assessment and/or learning analytics.

Advertised Pay Range Up to $70,000
