Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. |
KSA's/Required Qualifications | EMT Instructional Assistant: Virginia and/or National Registry Advanced Emergency Medical Technician designation or higher with an unencumbered license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and significant experience as a provider in a high call volume agency or equivalent experience in other agencies. Demonstrated competency in BLS and/or ALS knowledge, psychomotor skills, and affective domain evaluation. AEMT/Paramedic Instructional Assistant: Virginia and/or National Registry Paramedic designation with an unencumbered license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia, American Heart Association CPR for Health Care Providers certification, and significant experience as an ALS provider in a high call volume agency or the equivalent experience in other agencies. Demonstrated competency in ALS knowledge, psychomotor skills, and affective domain evaluation. |
Additional Considerations | Teaching experience in an approved EMS program(s) and/or teaching experience at the community college level. Associate or bachelor’s degree in EMS or equivalent fields, VEMSES and/or NEMSES instructor designation or eligibility, and Instructor in certification courses such as ACLS, ITLS, PHTLS, PEPP, PALS, AMLS, etc. with experience teaching in programs. |
