Position Summary

This position is specifically looking for someone who can handle the following responsibilities: 
UNM IT’s Academic Technologies division is seeking responsible, self-motivated students that demonstrate leadership, aptitude, initiative, and assertiveness to provide assistance and training on a wide variety of classroom technologies to students, faculty, and staff across campus. Candidates will demonstrate excellent leadership skills and an interest in teaching, communicating, and furthering understanding of student employees as it relates to the services we provide. 
There are three positions currently available: 
Duties and responsibilities include:
Hiring Lead 
Recruits and interviews prospective student technicians and organizes the staffing and scheduling. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and communicate professionally with faculty, staff, and students. Is expected to take the initiative in resolving any issues involving employees. May be expected to perform administrative tasks. 
Responsible for ongoing coaching and support of staff development along with helping coordinate various special projects in the classrooms. Takes initiative to solve of the computing and personnel problems. 
Training Lead 
Trains any new hires and is responsible for retraining existing student technicians.  Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, work with a large group of people, conduct meetings, demonstrate new skills to others and communicate professionally with faculty, staff, and students.  
Responsible for ongoing coaching and support of staff development along with helping coordinate various special projects in the labs and computer classrooms. Takes initiative to solve of the computing and personnel problems. 
Technical Lead 
Provides advanced technical leadership for student technicians. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate with customers about ongoing issues in classrooms and dealing with audiovisual systems and computer software.  
Responsible for ongoing coaching and support of staff development along with helping coordinate various special projects in the labs and computer classrooms. Takes initiative to solve of the computing and personnel problems. 


Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work  Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
1. Previous experience as a Scon or Learning Environments Student Tech. 
2. Ability to evaluate and recommend improvements associated with all aspects of the classroom and AV annexes. 
3. Ability to work with faculty and teaching assistants. 
4. Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues and coordinate with intradepartmental IT specialists to resolve issues and projects. 
5. Experience with operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex AV systems. 
6. Prior experience in a similar capacity at another department or institution. 
7. Public speaking experience.
