The laboratory technician will be responsible for molecular and cell biological procedures, such as immunoblotting, PCR, DNA subcloning and sequencing, immunoprecipitations, cell culture, generation of transgenic cell lines (e.g. transfection/transduction of cell lines, CRISPR gene editing), cell-based drug response assays, CUT&RUN, sample and library preparation for next generation sequencing, and murine animal studies. Working with model organisms such as mice and with human tissue and/or cell lines is required. In addition, the research specialist will support lab organization and operations. This role requires the timely, accurate, and detailed record keeping of experimental procedures and organization of data. High degree of accuracy and adherence to good laboratory practice (GLP) is necessary. Must understand spreadsheet applications and general mathematics. Reports/Analyses must be kept current and be clear and concise.



Job Summary

Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.


Essential Functions 

Routine problem solving is required, generally guided by policies, procedures, and business plans.  Decisions outside of standard policies are referred to a higher level manager.


Physical Effort 

Moderate physical effort required. May be required to stand/move for several hours at a time. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
