The Department of Psychology is a cross-college unit and spans Cornell Human Ecology and The College of Arts & Sciences. It is recognized for excellence in advancing knowledge of psychological science. We focus on the investigation of behavior and its cognitive, neural, and hormonal underpinnings in the full range of environmental situations. What You Will Do

We are seeking a full-time lab manager for the new Better Outcomes Laboratory. This laboratory will examine long-term functioning and well-being after depression and related mental health conditions, with particular focus on understanding good outcomes. This position will provide an excellent research and training environment to learn about emotion theory and research more broadly.

As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to perform research and gain experience in study design, recruitment, data collection, clinical interviewing, and data analysis. This position is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in clinical psychology or a related field.

This is a fixed term appointment; a two-year commitment is strongly preferred. The initial appointment is one year, and renewal is contingent on available funding, available work, and successful performance.

No visa sponsorship or relocation assistance are provided for this position.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in US without sponsorship. Employment will end upon the expiration of work authorization in the US. Continued employment in this position is subject to eligibility to work in accordance with US immigration laws.

A US domestic hybrid work arrangement will be considered based on business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in psychology, public health, or related clinical field or equivalent educational experience.

  • Three months of prior experience conducting or assisting with research.

  • Excellent technical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a research team.

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, goal and detail-oriented work style, meticulous and consistent follow through on research projects.

  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.

  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, statistics, public health, or a related field.

  • Experience working with clinical populations.

  • Experience with website design.

  • Experience with data analysis.
