Position Summary | The primary position responsibility is to provide day-to-day technical support for the CSU Soil, Water, and Plant Testing (SWPT) Laboratory. The employee should have working knowledge of equipment and methods used in the SWPT Lab. The individual will perform analyses for samples (soil,water,plant,forages/feeds, and manure/compost) received by the lab, following standard methodologies and quality assurance and control protocols. The employee is expected to communicate regularly with lab clientele about their needs and sample testing results. |
Position Minimum Qualifications | • B.S./B.A. experience. • Experience performing analyses for soil, water, and/or plant samples. • Strong written and oral communication skills. • Demonstrated proficiency with standard computer software. |
Preferred Qualifications | • Demonstrated ability to analyze water samples (pH, EC, TSS, TDS, titration). Demonstrate experience with soil health indicators testing and interpretation. • Experience designing and performing research experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting data.. • Demonstrated personal or professional commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. |
