Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The IT Coordinator in the Office of Assessment & Technology is involved in full life-cycle development related to systems supporting student information processing, including requirements analyses and confirmation, functional and design specifications, implementation, testing, technical issues resolution, and other analytic processes for front- and back-end Web application and system integration development using hybrid classic waterfall and agile methodologies. The incumbent also performs duties as a critical developer and systems administrator within Enrollment Management (EM), and uses Java Web and Java Enterprise development tools for supporting EM solutions. The position also develops using JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Structured Query Language (SQL), Procedural Language SQL (PL SQL), Visual Basic, and Perl languages and works in Windows and Unix environments both on-prem and the Amazon cloud. This position additionally manages the university’s document imaging system (currently Optix by Mindwrap), liaises with the Division of Information Technology (DIT) on systems management and integrations, maintains systems documentation, and conducts systems training. The position will track work using ServiceNow and Atlassian Jira software.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in an information technology-related field.
Experience:
Software development experience in a complex organizational environment with 3-5 years of related experience. Knowledge and experience with Java, JavaScript, C/C++, SQL, and HTML.

  • Ability to work in a team environment, and possess strong problem-solving skills to provide solutions.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to interpret and communicate information based on knowledge of institutional policies, procedures, and departmental considerations.
  • Ability to utilize JavaScript, Java, SQL Developer and Excel.
  • Knowledge of the architecture of imaging systems, processes, programming environment, flow management, security, and ancillary sub-systems of imaging systems.
  • Knowledge of classic waterfall, agile, and hybrid development and project management methodologies.

  • Experience working at a large research University.
  • Experience with an Oracle or SQL platform. 
  • Experience with Informatica, Atlassian suit of tools, or Salesforce.

Physical Demands
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items, and to walk short distances. Weekend and evening on-call work is required at times.
