Position Summary

Investment Monitoring - 30%
• Assist in monitoring existing investments, capturing and communicating relevant performance data and documents.
• Assist in monitoring changes to legal documents, alerting management team to changes in terms and any impact to MSU, capturing key data in investment software.
• Assist in monitoring policy asset allocation targets and coordination of all rebalancing transactions.
• Assist in monitoring CIF liquidity.

Financial Reporting/Audit - 20%
• Assist in annual review of Audited Financial Statements for all investment managers.
• Assist with review of all K-1s, obtaining foreign entity tax reporting and distribution of documents to MSU’s tax staff.
• Assist with preparation of NCSE/Commonfund, Cambridge Associates and Penn State survey responses.

Other Investment Support - 25%
• Review market value and performance estimates entered by interns and/or investment office staff for accuracy.
• Assist with the maintenance of investment software. This includes setting up new funds, companies, share classes and month end review processes.
• Monthly upload of indices to investment software.
• Monthly preparation of information needed by external consultants.
• Assist with preparation of monthly dashboard.
• Monthly reconciliation of internal cash account.
• Biweekly preparation of internal cash projection.

Administrative - 15%
• Assist with data and document management including appropriate backup and adherence to departmental retention schedules.
• Assist with responses to investment Freedom of Information Act requests.
• Contribute to an atmosphere that encourages, celebrates and reflects a diverse work force, working together in a creative, collaborative environment.
• Assist in creating and maintaining an environment which provides for effective teamwork within department as well as with staff in other departments.
• Serve as coach, facilitator, delegator and leader for interns in the office, providing direction as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Investment Transactions and Money Movement- 10%
• Serve as a backup for money movement and investment transaction
• Serve as a backup for reconciliation of manager-reported cash flows and outstanding commitments to MSU records.


Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business, Accounting or a related field; one to three years of progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in accounting, financial analysis, management and/or supervision and in the area of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Desired Qualifications

CPA designation preferred.
