Job Description

The HR Generalist II is responsible for supporting Texas A&M Engineering Human Resources & Payroll and will perform a variety of human resource functions related to employment eligibility, immigration services, and new employee on-boarding.


Responsibilities:

  • Contacts departments/divisions regarding upcoming expiration dates to ensure Form I-9s are re-verified timely.

  • Responsible for creating, reviewing, approving, and retaining of Form I-9s in Guardian and Workday systems.

  • Oversee day-to-day tracking of new employee on-boarding process through Laserfiche. Manage logistics for new employee onboarding sessions including room reservations, invitations for staff attendees, and purchasing refreshments.

  • Oversee and coordinate the logistics of new employee onboarding/in-person sessions, including personnel coordination, forecasting needs and enhancements, communication with new employees, and oversight of process improvements. 

  • Responsible for the complete knowledge and modifications of the onboarding processes in Laserfiche, Workday, EventBrite, Guardian, and other related systems; setting up schedules for attendees, collaborate with CHR and departments/divisions regarding processes, issues, or concerns, and run reports to monitor progress, as needed. 

  • Responsible for documenting “lessons learned” during peak seasons to determine process improvements and/or changes needed.  

  • Serve as Employment Eligibility Verification expert for Texas A&M Engineering. This includes acting in the roles of Guardian Administrator and I-9 Partner in Workday. Responsible for training CHR and departmental representatives on the completion of the Form I-9 and compliance regarding the federal requirements for the Form I-9. Duties include completion of the Form I-9, E-Verify submission, expiring work authorizations and retention of the Form I-9 for active and terminated employees.

  • Serves as a liaison between Engineering agencies and Workday Support as our representative on the I-9 Workday working group

  • Oversight pre-onboarding tasks; Provides guidance and assists student workers with processing prospective hire forms. Answers questions with regards to Pre-Onboarding and the I2H process.

  • Other related duties as requested or when necessary.


Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • One year of related experience required.
