What we want

The Business Coordinator II under general supervision, provides business support and coordination of a variety of business activities requiring independent judgement, including reviewing business documents for the unit head and assisting in developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts and unit budget data as directed.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years of related experience in general office, accounting, or personnel operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets, presentation, and word processing software programs.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to plan and organize effectively.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or closely related field.

  • Experience working within university disbursement guidelines.

  • Experience with Excel, FAMIS/Canopy, AggieBuy, Concur, iPayments, Workday, SSO, Laserfiche, QuickBooks, and Quicken

Essential Duties/Tasks

Departmental Business Services Liaison

  • Serves as a business services liaison to assist all departments, centers, and institutes in the College of Arts and Sciences with business services during staffing absences and vacancies.

  • Business services include assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, travel, processes interdepartmental transfers (IDTs), departmental budget request (DBR’s), departmental correction request (DCR’s), payroll cost transfers (PCT’s), payroll costing allocations, Texas A&M Foundation voucher entry and transfers, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and fiscal year end closing activities. 

  • Interprets and applies System policies and regulations and University Rules as they pertain to financial transactions.

  • Serves as a liaison with Financial Management Operations (FMO). 

Financial Access for College

  • Coordinates electronic access for academic departments and research centers, programs, and institutes of the College of Arts and Science.

Budget Analyst Assistance & Other Duties

  • Assist the Dean’s Office budgeting team during annual budget preparation by creating and reviewing budget workbooks, help with reconciling the 901 reports with budget workbooks, verifying merit raises submitted by the departments, centers, and institutes.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
