Housing Program Manager

About Our Opportunity:

The Housing Program Manager will manage summer school and specialty program housing. This position will work collaboratively with campus partners such as Purdue in Indy, Athletics, Residential Academic Initiatives, Purdue Promise, Pathway to Purdue and Honors to meet programmatic housing needs. Responsible for ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations as interpreted. Track statistics and bill athletics and other departments as needed for housing. Serve as a resource for StarRez functions and procedures. Provide broad knowledge of operational systems and practices within University Residences. Serve as a resource for the complete assignment process. Interpret policy and make decisions or prefer to the appropriate Director as needed. Provide information and communicate to prospective and current students and their family members. Coordinate Central Assignment Office coverage at Purdue’s for Me and Introducing Purdue. Serve as liaison to the residential life staff and other campus specialty programs. Perform fact-finding related to specific policies, procedures, and processes and make recommendations accordingly.
 

What We’re Looking For:
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year of experience in student services, residential life, account management or related field
  • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience (Associate’s Degree + 3 years of experience)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally
  • Strong organizational skills, effective problem-solving ability, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to collaborate successfully
  • Ability to multi -task while enduring stressful seasonal workloads, with strong critical thinking skills
  • Communicate professionally with students, staff, and alumni
  • High work standards and productivity, strong interpersonal and  intercultural skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and customers
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with students, alumni, and staff to help expedite processes through various Purdue systems

 
Preferred:

  • Computer software skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
