The Housing Manager serves a critical role within Cornell Tech, working in close collaboration with Related Management Company (RMC) as the building management company, in providing excellence in administration. The Housing Manager provides overall management of housing services including licensing (leasing), financial management for Cornell Tech, and the resident experience related to building operations.

   

Cornell Tech seeks a Housing Manager with oversight of The House at Cornell Tech , a residential building housing Cornell graduate students, faculty, staff, and academic professionals. A 26-story luxury residential building built to passive house sustainability standards, The House is a joint venture between Cornell Tech and The Hudson Companies, Inc. (Hudson).

This position serves a critical role within Cornell Tech, working in close collaboration with Related Management Company (RMC) as the building management company, in providing excellence in administration. The Housing Manager provides overall management of housing services including licensing (leasing), financial management for Cornell Tech, and the resident experience related to building operations.

In this role you will provide administrative and financial management of all aspects of Cornell Tech’s responsibilities related to The House. This includes responsibilities such as: customer service and communication with residents and prospective residents; partnering with Cornell Tech’s Admissions and Enrollment and Student and Academic Services teams; administering housing agreements and assignments; developing and maintaining occupancy and billing agreements within and external to Cornell Tech; financial transactions and accounts maintenance activity including budgets, accounts receivables; and systems administration for housing applications.

This position works in coordination and partnership with the RMC team, including the Office Coordinator, Assistant Resident Manager and the full building team, to provide the highest quality customer service to residents. The Housing Manager will be a liaison in close collaboration with all parties, including Hudson employees as Hudson is the managing partner of the Owner of the property.

Overall Responsibilities:

Provide administrative and financial transaction support for the operations of Cornell Tech’s residential building, The House at Cornell Tech , a joint venture. The Housing Manager will report to Cornell Tech’s Senior Director of HR & Campus-Wide Initiatives. Cornell Tech and RMC have open lines of communication to provide a collaborative working experience for the Housing Manager as well as RM’s Assistant General Manager at the property. The Housing Manager will be a liaison in close collaboration with all parties, including The Hudson Companies, Inc. (Hudson) as the managing partner of the Owner of the property.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree and have 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Financial acumen with budgeting, accounts receivables and financial systems
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem resolution skills
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent presentation skills
  • High energy level and a positive attitude
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability and commitment to learn quickly and upgrade skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team of professionals

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with residential real estate or housing within a higher education setting is preferred.
