The College of Nursing has an opening for full-time (1.0 FTE), benefits-eligible Healthcare Project Coordinator position within its federally qualified community health center, Sheridan Health Services (SHS), located in southwest Denver, CO (zip code: 80236).  This position is grant funded.

Nature of Work:

The Healthcare Project Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and efficient operation of healthcare projects and initiatives. When a new project is launched the Project Coordinator develops a detailed project plan and is responsible for implementing the activities, and proactively managing. This position oversees healthcare projects from start to finish, monitoring and reporting on the progress throughout the process. It also facilitates team engagement and student participation involved in projects and research connected to the CON.  Examples of projects/initiatives include:

  • The SOUL Project - Sheridan Health Services (SHS) seeks to significantly improve digital literacy and provide digital access to telehealth for underserved populations.
  • Project Equal - Create COVID-19 vaccine equity for Latinx and those experiencing poverty and increase community trust in and access to vaccines through strategic grassroots education, will-building campaigns, targeted immunization clinics, and trust building engagement.

The Healthcare Project Coordinator will uphold the SHS mission by assuring all support systems for the Governing Board are operating efficiently and assisting the Board with greater effectiveness.

Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.

At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.

Clinic Description:

Sheridan Health Services is a multi-site, nurse-managed federally qualified community health center, funded through the Health Resources and Services Administration Bureau of Primary Healthcare; and is a collaborative effort between the College of Nursing and the Sheridan School District. There are now ~45 employees at two convenient locations to serve community health needs primarily for residents of Arapahoe, Denver and Jefferson counties.  A Youth Health Clinic is located in the Sheridan School District Administration building. The Family Health Clinic is located in southwest Denver on the Fort Logan campus and provides services to adults and children, 65% of whom identify at Latinx, and 42% of whom are best served in another language, with Spanish being the predominant second language.  Services offered include primary care across the lifespan; prenatal and postpartum, gynecology, dentistry, pharmacy, behavioral health, and outpatient substance abuse treatment.  Sheridan Health Services is a Patient-Centered Medical Home, and as such we uphold a model of care that places the patient at the center, incorporating the values and beliefs of the patient in all decision-making. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and collaborates in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation and improvement of assigned projects and other contract and grant initiatives.
  • Manages grant initiatives and other internal tasks as assigned; leads and contributes to a multi-disciplinary team comprised of individuals with technical and clinical expertise.
  • Documents project activities and provides accurate and timely submission of deliverables.
  • Maintains a comprehensive tracking mechanism for projects and grants from private and public sectors, and participates in grant development, management, and reporting for Federal, State and private grant funded projects.
  • Prepares/assists with the preparation of articles and reports for external publications and presents before various audiences.
  • Works with organizational leadership to identify areas of need and understand SHS programs.
  • Collaborates with analysts and other team members to develop effective interventions for assigned projects.
  • Completes required grant reports and program updates.
  • Collaborates with leadership and program staff to monitor grant deliverables and compliance.
  • Supports grant program management and coordination of activities supported by grant programs.
  • Attends and provides administrative support for leadership meetings and grant meetings, as assigned.
  • Purchases supplies for grant programs.
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives and provide support for grant funded programs to implement PI/ QI projects.
  • Collaborates with data analysts and electronic health record administrators to ensure grant program objectives are adequately tracked and reported upon.
  • Collects data, writes program update narrative, and submits timely and accurate reports to funders.
  • Prepares for and participates in grant compliance meetings and site visits with funding agencies.
  • Collaborates with Executive Director of Sheridan Health Services and Finance and Accounting Manager to ensure all grant contracts are fully executed.
  • Represents SHS at external meetings and events.
  • Engages in outreach with healthcare partners and external stakeholders to drive strong partnerships in the community, as assigned.
  • Supports organizational initiatives through participation in CLAS Committee.
  • Develops and maintains working relationships with outside agencies to promote program referrals and collaboration.
  • Develops and maintains community resources and linkages.
  • Develops and manages staff training opportunities related to target projects/initiatives.

  • Create surveys, questionnaires, and polls to collect necessary information.
  • Other duties, as assigned

Board Support

  • Supports CEO on various projects, including reports and presentation materials
  • Provides leadership for effective Board support and management
  • Maintains board calendar and establishes reminder systems
  • Assists with corporate compliance activities
  • Schedules meetings, site visits, and other requisite meetings, as assigned
  • Attends committee meetings and provides administrative support for the meetings
  • Participates in planning activities for the board and coordinates training
  • Reviews bylaws and incorporates pertinent elements into board calendar
  • Tracks membership and term limits
  • Meets with local businesses and leaders to conduct clinic outreach
  • Participates in board recruitment and orientation

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established at $51,175 to $58,175.  

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1 year of professional level experience in project and/or program coordination
  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific 1 year of experience.

Preferrred Qualifications:

  • Experience with integrated team-based healthcare, particularly in a primary care setting.
  • Experience creating reports for Federal, State and/or private grant funded projects
  • Project Management or Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience compiling and organizing statistical information and presenting findings to management

Competencies :

  • Advanced organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and direct projects from inception to completion
  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks in a team environment.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving to evaluate highly-complex information, and develop effective short-range and long-range solutions
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office and other specialized applications such as Adobe Acrobat, project management, and web meeting platforms
