Student Success and Well-Being, UCF Connect:

UCF Connect is a partnership-driven unit within the Division of Student Success and Well-Being that supports all transfer student success through its award winning Direct Connect to UCF® and Transfer Connect programs. UCF Connect Centers, strategically located within an 80-mile radius of the UCF Orlando campus, offer an opportunity to complete several programs and provide access to various resources in its ten locations.

The Opportunity:

Student Success and Well-Being, UCF Connect is seeking a Graphic Design Specialist II. As a graphic designer at UCF Connect, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a dynamic team, create engaging content for print and digital media, and translate complex ideas into digestible visual formats. Your expertise will contribute directly to our brand's visibility and student success initiatives as you craft designs that resonate with our audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and create print and digital materials in accordance with UCF's brand standards, collaborating closely with the UCF Connect staff.

  • Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud and various other applications to produce assets, mockups, and final deliverables for print, digital media, web, and social media.

  • Conduct image retouching and manipulation to optimize images for web, email, and documents while maintaining high quality.

  • Develop email content, social media campaigns, tracking links, and interactive TV graphics using online tools and services.

  • Provide creative input to stakeholders, collaborate with diverse professionals, manage vendor relationships, and translate ideas into images, layouts, and other designs.

  • Design infographics, wireframe mockups, and diagrams for the simplification of complex information, and assist in the testing of user interfaces, websites, and email blasts.

  • Maintain technical knowledge and best practices related to UCF branding, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, web design, and social media trends, and ensure project compliance with UCF accessibility policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of design fundamentals and modern design tools, including proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).

  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate feedback to designers and visual creators.

  • Ability to interpret data, goals and objectives, audience segmentation, as well as skills in understanding and speaking to marketing strategy in order to produce creative that delivers results and drives action.

  • Strategic thinker, able to make informed decisions from various inputs, including marketing data and qualitative information.

  • Proactive and highly motivated, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively within a flexible and cohesive team, but also be a strong independent contributor.

  • Ability to drive ideas and gain credibility and rapport with all types of internal and external stakeholders in a team environment.

  • Creative thinker, uncovering unique and fresh ways to express themes and concepts in compelling and creative ways.

  • Experience in both digital and print based design and production.
