Description of Work Unit | The mission of the Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) is to achieve stewardship of Colorado’s diverse forest environments for the benefit of present and future generations. The State Office provides administrative support to 17 field offices, the State Office staff, and other work units, with approximately 160 State Office and program staff members across the State. The purpose of the Administrative Division is to provide leadership and direction in service, outreach, and administration that directly contributes to achieving the agency’s mission of “the stewardship of Colorado’s diverse forest environments for the benefit of present and future generations”. The CSFS Administrative Division specifically coordinates the financial and budget processes for the State Office and 17 offices. The work unit consists of key leadership positions that provide direction to achieve the vision and mission of the CSFS. |
Position Summary | Manage, conduct and coordinate oversight for the collection of supporting documentation and the related audit function concerning Forest Ag Programs, Landowner Assistance Grants, HB1199 Assistance Grants, and State Land Trust Tracking, specifically State of Colorado grant-funded programs. Provide support services to foresters, landowners and staff for all agency units relating/interpreting university and/or department policies and procedures to foresters, landowners and staff; Coordinate as needed with the agency Program Specialists, Supervisory Foresters, Business & Financial Services and CSU’s Office of Sponsored Programs. This position must know the polices/procedures/rules/regulations which are proper for completing assigned responsibilities and informs and corrects CSFS personnel on a daily basis. Decision-making is at a defined level where there is independent choice and personal preference for organizing and processing work. Analysis and judgement is patterned, based on pre-established guidelines and accounting systems. This position must use good judgement to choose the best option given the circumstances of the assigned responsibility. |

Reconcile the collected data to KFS – account number 9998700. 3) Support Finance staff, as needed, with other accounting duties including, but not limited to: deposits, Purchase Orders, petty cash, journal entries, invoicing, record keeping, GLTs, or travel documentation. 4) Support student employee(s) with training, oversight, and compliance with CSFS financial and grant policies and procedures. 5) Other duties as assigned. |
