Vaccination Requirement

The University of Nebraska Medicine Center (UNMC) requires COVID-19 vaccinations for all students, staff, and faculty. All employees must be fully vaccinated unless they have requested and been approved for an exemption based on a recognized medical reason, a sincerely held religious belief, or a pre-approved, 100% remote work agreement. Fully vaccinated means having received one dose of a single dose COVID-19 vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) or both doses of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (Moderna and Pfizer).


As a prospective and/or a new employee at UNMC, you will be/are required to comply with the UNMC’s vaccination protocol. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers will have five (5) days from the date of hire to provide proof of partial or full vaccination or to request a medical or religious exemption. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with proof of partial vaccination may have up to thirty-five (35) days from the hire date to be in full compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers who receive a denial of a request for medical or religious exemption will be given five (5) business days from exemption denial notification date to provide proof of compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with no approved exemption who fail to comply with this policy will be separated.

Position Summary
Interfaces with faculty, research personnel, administrators and staff to conduct a full range of activities to prepare and submit funding proposals (grants, contracts, subcontracts, etc.) to various federal, non-federal, and state agencies to include foundations and industry organizations. Efficiently develops budgets and tracks funding in compliance with UNMC and sponsor standards.
Advises faculty and staff on post award financial management.

1.) This position requires excellent organization and communication skills, ability to work under pressure situations and deadlines, and have the ability to work with challenging individuals and properly handle sensitive situations.
2.) Ability to research and locate agencies funding guidelines and instructions. Must be able to interpret, and explain regulations, policies and procedures related to grant and contract submission and administration.
3.) Proficiency in spreadsheets is essential. Individual will provide comprehensive information on select COM research and funding to the Administrators and COM Business Director upon their request.
