Description of Work Unit
The Institute for Entrepreneurship supports many programs within the College of Business. One of those programs is the Global Business Academy.   The Global Business Academy is a 10-day, 9-night summer program from July 15 – 24, 2024.  Global Business Academy students will come from Colorado, other US states, and other countries and are well-rounded in academics and extra-curricular interests and come from a range of socio-economic backgrounds.  They are looking to explore future college and career possibilities and the two weeks are designed to teach them life skills such as cross-cultural communication, negotiation, financial literacy, and leadership and teamwork, and foundation concepts of innovation, entrepreneurship, and international business.

Position Summary
The Program Assistant is needed from June 1 – July 30, 2024 to both prepare for the Academy Program and to act as a Camp Counselor during the program. The Counselor role  is expected to provide GBA students with an immersive college experience, and will mentor students in academic, team, and leadership-building opportunities.  GBA camp counselors will mentor, facilitate team building activities and other group academic and social activities, supervise field trips to companies and social activities, and play key roles in the business simulation game in week 2.
The salary range for this position is $24 – $25 per hour. 
Position Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be available during full 2-week residential program (July 11 – 24)
  • Must be available for training and planning time July 11-12 from 9:00 am –4:00 pm and July 13-14 for airport pickup of possible early camp arrivals
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance (for driving CSU vans for specific activities) 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, writing, developing and presenting academic workshops, and/or presentations, use of computer applications)
  • Demonstrated experience working with high school or college aged students/communities
  • Aptitude to embrace reoccurring processes combined with the ability to improve overall strategies

  • Program and Facilitate activities: Implement group activities designed by Coordinators for GBA students.
  • Program Assistant: Prepare for the Academy participants to attend the Program between July 11-24 including administrative support.
  • Participate in Team efforts: Actively support and engage the efforts of the Global Business Academy during classroom activities, excursions outside CSU, and collaborate on activities with other Counselors and Coordinators.
  • Supervise student behavior and conduct: Coach students through behavior concerns and GBA program rules and policies.
