Department Description
The Center for Aging & Health (CAH) and the Division of Geriatric Medicine are organizations within the School of Medicine. Both organizations report to Dr. Jan Busby-Whitehead, Director of CAH and Division Chief. The CAH is an interdisciplinary group of professionals who promote the health and well-being of older citizens. The mission is to promote collaborative basic and clinical science research in aging, to develop innovative geriatrics and gerontological education programs for physicians and multidisciplinary health professionals, and to provide consultation to agencies who serve older citizens.

Position Description
This position supports Dr. Jan Busby-Whitehead, Chief of the Division of Geriatric Medicine and the Director of the Center for Aging and Health. This position is the sole administrative support for the Center Director and Division Chief, providing secretarial support, administrative support, program coordination, customer service, meeting and event planning, CV management, report writing, travel planning, summarizing and reconciling information, records and facilities management, and closely related functions and project support for the Associate Chief for Administration in addition to the Division Chief. 
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to manage well-defined business functions for a department unit or an organization. Ability to compile, and organize demographic, and financial information and other data. Ability to explain and interpret programs, policies, and procedures using standard formats. Ability to evaluate and assess workflow and staffing resources. Ability to coordinate tasks and establish priorities. Detailed attention to grammar and spelling. Ability to communicate information clearly to others about services, processes, and procedures. Ability to coordinate varied records processing activities requiring the application of well-defined policies and procedures. Ability to prepare and review information for completeness and accuracy. Ability to multi-task. Ability to communicate with individuals from various backgrounds and roles. Ability to independently research information for enhancing administrative role, Ability to collate content into a visual presentation tool such as PowerPoint, Ability to coordinate complex virtual meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
5 or more years of experience supporting a senior leader in an academic or medical role.
