Job Summary:
The Executive Assistant to the Office of the President reports to a member of the President’s senior staff in support of the President’s goals and objectives. The incumbent is responsible for providing high level, advanced, and diversified administrative and strategic support services for the Office of the President and members of the President’s leadership team. In addition, the position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the office; fielding inquiries and troubleshooting issues that emerge from visitors, callers or other stakeholders, coordinating and executing special projects; and collecting, maintaining, and analyzing data and information.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Equivalent related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
2. A minimum of three years of progressive high level administrative work experience required supporting an executive office in a multi-faceted, fast-paced work environment including office management responsibilities.
3. Experience preferred in a student-facing role and in-depth knowledge of the higher education environment working with faculty, students and staff, and interfacing with multiple organizational units.
4. Demonstrated ability to manage complex high-level projects and events.
5. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills. Well organized, independent, and collaborative in carrying out responsibilities.
6. Ability to communicate, collaborate and partner effectively with stakeholders from all levels, representing the interests and priorities of the Leadership Team at all times.
7. Ability to manage sensitive issues with decorum and confidentiality. Be a trusted confidant and resource to the Leadership Team and other University stakeholders.
8. Proficiency with computerized systems for data management, spreadsheet, word processing and other applications including mail merges; creating and editing tables, charts and graphs; networks; and has research capability. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Ability to learn quickly and train other staff in various information processing modalities, as required.
9. Must be willing and able to work at other FDU locations as required.
10. Valid driver’s license and accessibility to transportation for travel between campuses.
11. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
