The School of Advanced Computing at USC Viterbi invites applications for the position of Executive Assistant to the inaugural Director of the School of Advanced Computing, Executive Vice Dean of Viterbi. This unique opportunity supports the leadership of a pioneering educational initiative within one of the leading engineering schools in the country. We are seeking a dynamic, agile administrator with a comprehensive skill set in administration and communications. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in facilitating the Director's vision, managing daily administrative tasks, and executing projects with a high level of efficiency and effectiveness.

Reporting to the Director of the School of Advanced Computing, Executive Vice Dean of Viterbi, the Executive Assistant will join a team of senior administrative professionals that collectively manage activities in the Viterbi Dean’s Office and provide support across the School’s entire senior leadership team.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

· Administrative Support for the Director - Manage all aspects of the Director's administrative needs, including but not limited to calendar management, travel arrangements, correspondence, and document preparation.

· Project Execution - Take on and execute tasks and projects on behalf of the Director, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the School of Advanced Computing and close coordination with the Viterbi Dean's Office.

· Communication Liaison - Serve as a communication bridge between the Director and internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, students, university administration, and industry partners.

· Event Coordination - Assist in organizing and coordinating events, meetings, and seminars, ensuring they align with the School's objectives and the Director's schedule.

· Operational Agility - Thrive in a fast-paced and largely undefined operational environment, demonstrating the ability to work efficiently, effectively, and cheerfully on tasks and projects of varying scale.

Additional Information

This is an onsite position at USC’s University Park Campus located in Los Angeles, California. This position is not eligible for remote work. On occasion, and with ample notice, the Executive Assistant may be asked to work nights or weekends to support events/activities or to support the Director when he is traveling.

The annual base salary range for this position is $84,999.70 - $97,424.29. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope of responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in administrative roles, particularly those that include managing calendars, travel, and correspondence.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, with proficiency in managing diverse stakeholder relationships.

· Familiarity with office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and adaptability to new technologies.

· Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and projects with tight deadlines.

· Positive, solutions-oriented mindset, with the capability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.

· Interest or experience in higher education, technology, or related fields is a plus.

· Discretion in handling confidential information.

· Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Minimum Requirements

· Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

· Minimum Experience: 5 years

· Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience in supervising administrative operations of multi-faceted department.
