Serve as a Marketing Team member who is a talented and motivated Event Coordinator to organize fundraising events. The Event Coordinator will oversee the logistics of CCE Suffolk events. This individual will work with the Marketing Team to coordinate all aspects of each event. The Events Coordinator must be well-organized and possess excellent communication and attention to detail skills. The Event Coordinator will also seek donor opportunities through existing events.
The Events Coordinator will need to develop fundraising events, including producing an event budget, researching vendors, developing invites and donor mailing lists, and working with Marketing Team to manage all event operations.

    

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Education
  • Experience relevant to the role of an Events Coordinator
  • Ability to communicate effectively using a digital platform and oral, written, and visual channels using traditional tools and methods and electronic technology (e.g., video, audio, computers, etc.).
  • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficient with windows-based software, including the internet and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as appropriate.
  • Ability to effectively participate in professional team efforts.
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate with diverse audiences and maintain cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to plan and organize personal work responsibilities according to priorities developed with the immediate supervisor.
  • Ability to relate effectively to co-workers, advisors, community, and professional leaders.
  • Ability to identify and utilize program resources from the organization and the community.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DonorPerfect or other constituent management software.
  • Experience with Cooperative Extension or other similar educational organizations
  • Familiarity with the community where the work will take place and ability to utilize program resources within the community.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:


Administrative Responsibilities:
 

Coordination/Operation – 95%

  • Organize fundraising events aligned with the mission of the CCE Suffolk
  • Use existing resources and knowledge to accomplish goals, planning events with attention to financial and time constraints.
  • Maintain communication with vendors and the Marketing Team through various methods such as phone calls, e-mails, and electronic technology.
  • Provide information as directed by Supervisor regarding preparing and presenting proposals, statements, and success stories on program progress and accomplishments for raising funds, as necessary.

Professional Improvement – 5%

  • In cooperation with Supervisor or Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and address changes and Association priorities.
  • Collaborate in activities that support Cornell Cooperative Extension and perform other duties as assigned.

Health and Safety – Applied to all duties and functions

  • Support the Association to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Be familiar with and follow applicable federal, state, and local regulations, Association health and safety policy/procedure/requirement, and standards.
  • Act proactively to prevent accidents/injuries and communicate hazards to supervisors when identified.
