Up to 2 Environmental Restoration Program Specialist (Research Associate III) positions are available with Colorado State University’s (CSU) Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) to provide program management support, oversight and technical expertise for the Air National Guard Readiness Center (ANGRC) Environmental Restoration Program located at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland near Washington D.C. The candidate(s) will apply technical expertise and knowledge to coordinate and support restoration efforts for ANGRC restoration activities and projects. The position assists with all aspect of restoration including developing goals and objectives for restoration sites, and executing them in accordance with the Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP) as executed by the Air Force/Air National Guard; Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA); State clean-up programs and environmental regulations; and Integrated Natural Resources Management Plans (INRMPs). The position manages projects; collects, manages, and analyzes data; and prepare reports and other project deliverables as directed. It coordinates with installation environmental managers to develop requirements and cost estimates in support of performance requirement and funding planning; coordinates with state and federal agencies; and develops and delivers briefings and other materials. Overnight travel to various CONUS or OCONUS installations and other destinations for the equivalent of approximately 1 week every 2 months. Position will be in office with option to telework up to 2 days per week. Beginning Monday, August 16, 2021, Colorado State University mandated vaccinations against COVID-19. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree with a major study in a STEM field including but not limited to sanitary, civil, geotechnical, water resource, environmental, chemical, mechanical or related field, or an Engineer-In-Training Certificate. • Three or more years of relevant work experience demonstrating knowledge, skills and abilities in environmental program management, environmental restoration/cleanup and federal and state environmental laws and regulations. • Strong technical writing skills. • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date. • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
