Position Summary/Purpose of Position: | The Disclosure Specialist is part of the Conflicts of Interest (COI) team and reports to the Senior Disclosure Specialist. The COI team oversees the examination of faculty disclosures, the preparation, review, processing, and documentation of conflict of interest cases, provides assistance to the COI Committee, and facilitates education and compliance initiatives. UMD uses an electronic disclosure system to manage the disclosure and adjudication process. This role involves aiding researchers (disclosers) in the KCOI process and guiding Management Plans (MPs) from disclosure to COI disposition. Additionally, the position will contribute to the COI Team’s efforts in the post-approval monitoring program for COI MPs. Maintain working knowledge of federal policies related to COI and keep abreast of any new procedural requirements and policies. Monitor new developments in COI regulations, rules, and laws and analyze the impact of such changes on the research community. Participate in the development of COI campus policies, guidance, and procedures. |
