Director, International Graduate Programs

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Four (4) years of full-time professional experience in international program management within a higher education setting. International travel will be required at times and valid documentation will be required and maintained by the incumbent.

Preferred Qualifications: 
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in business administration, international education, or a related field. Five or more years of full-time professional experience in international program management within a higher education setting. Experience with relevant accreditation standards and regulations for international programs such as AACSB and MSCHE. Experience collaborating with faculty and stakeholders to design innovative programming that meet the needs of a diverse, global student body. Experience creating and maintaining an MBA program.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Director of International Graduate Programs in the College of Business, plays a pivotal role in shaping the global strategy and success of our graduate programs. This position requires a dynamic, strategic leader with a deep understanding of international education, a proven track record in program management, and a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment. 
The successful incumbent will have:

  • Proven track record of successful program development, recruitment, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of international higher education trends, cultural nuances, and global business environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Duties:

  • Strategic Leadership:  
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive internationalization strategy for graduate programs, aligned with the overall goals and vision of the college.   
    • Provide strategic leadership in expanding the global footprint of graduate programs through partnerships, collaborations, and targeted marketing efforts.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with international universities, organizations, and businesses to facilitate student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and collaborative projects. 
    • Identify and explore opportunities for strategic partnerships that enhance the reputation and global standing of the college.
    • Lead international recruitment efforts to attract high-caliber, diverse students to the graduate programs.
    • Develop and implement effective admission strategies, including outreach, marketing, and admissions processes that align with the college’s goals.
  • Program Development and Management:
    • Oversee the development, launch, and continuous improvement of international graduate programs, ensuring alignment with industry trends and academic standards. Current graduate programs include: MS in Accounting, MS in Finance, MS in Decision Analytics and various MBAs. 
    • Work on the creation, approval, and maintenance of an MBA program at the SUNY Korea location. 
    • Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to design innovative programming that meet the needs of a diverse, global student body.
    • Manage and execute all functions essential to the MS in Technology Management (MSTM) program offered in Seoul, South Korea with a partner institution.
    • Act as the central point of contact for all inquiries related to the Korean Program throughout the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
    • Oversee the MSTM budget Serve as a liaison between the Seoul School of Integrated Sciences and Technologies (aSSIST) and administrative offices at Stony Brook University.
    • Facilitate effective communication between relevant parties to ensure smooth program operations.
    • Facilitate the student visa process.
    • Ensure compliance with required deadlines for admission, reporting, course scheduling, and registration for students enrolled in the program.
    • Act as the liaison for course scheduling, collaborating with area heads, faculty, and aSSIST.
    • Serve as the administrator for each course, entering grades into PeopleSoft.
    • Working with the Dean’s Office, prepare draft contracts and invoices.
    • Possible international travel associated with the management of programs in Korea and other countries as required.
  • Student Services:
    • Enhance the overall student experience for international graduate students, including academic support, cultural integration, and career development opportunities.
    • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes cross-cultural understanding and collaboration among students.
  • Accreditation & Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with relevant accreditation standards and regulations for international programs including AACSB and MSCHE. 
    • Implement quality assurance processes to continuously monitor and improve the effectiveness of international graduate programs.  
    • Work closely with the Dean’s Office facilitate assurance of learning processes at off-campus locations.
    • Work closely with the Dean’s Office facilitate faculty credentialing at off-campus locations.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. This position will require alternative work schedules at times to include, weekend and evening hours.

In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,087 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
