Job Profile Summary

Under limited supervision, this position serves as the Corrections to College Program Director of the Pathway Home 4 Grant Program funded by the US Department of Labor, Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds. This position will oversee the Corrections to College Program to support prospective, current, and formally incarcerated participants in the program. The successful candidate will guide the day-to-day implementation of the program, develop appropriate programs and services that lead to recruitment, workforce training, evaluation, and job placement of formally incarcerated eligible participants. The Director is responsible for meeting and reporting project deliverables. The successful candidate will ensure that each grant project participant receives quality training and job placement preparation through hands-on supervision of staff. This position is also responsible for connecting and managing relationships with employers that are willing to work with this special population.
Travel to correctional facility required.
This is a grant funded temporary position which ends on December 31, 2026. The incumbent is subject to annual performance evaluations and grant contract renewal.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred with combination of relevant work experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Six or more years of experience in workforce education and working with transformational justice programs, incarcerated or formally incarcerated individuals and three years of supervisory experience at a post-secondary educational institution.

Required:

  • Successfully complete a criminal history background check
  • Must possess a current, valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Successfully complete the Broward College and Florida Department of Corrections compliance training.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily -20%: Directs, creates, and oversees the vision, implementation timeline and strategies needed for achievement of program goals. Responsible for communicating WIOA regulations and eligibility criteria and ensure staff understanding. Manages the grant budget according to the plan.
  • Weekly -10%: Provides effective leadership and guidance to ensure that each participant receives quality training and job placement preparation.
  • Bi-Weekly - 15%: Establishes professional working relationship with community organizations to provide social services to participant. Develops and manages relationship with employers to provide job placement opportunities for participants and ensure their level of satisfaction with the participant and the program.
  • Weekly -5%: Attends required meetings with local agencies or college committees regarding job placement and job retention issues; apprise staff of discussions held at these meetings.
  • Daily -10%: Executes the operational plan for the Pathway Home 4 grant program as outlined in the grant proposal and provides direction. Provides positive vision for required changes during program operation. Oversees quality assurance functions in terms of customer service, data and file management.
  • Monthly -10%: Prepares reports, documentation, and related materials to inform Broward College leadership and grant funder on project progress at regular intervals, both in written and oral communication forms. Presentations to larger groups may occasionally be necessary.
  • Weekly -10%: Advises and supports the student success initiatives aimed at enrolling and retaining program participants in their selected program of study.
  • Weekly -5%: Maintains accurate program participant tracking information and monitors data analytics and trends of participants in the Corrections to College program.
  • Daily -5%: Responsible for personnel management for the Corrections to College program, including recommendation, staffing, hiring, termination and discipline.
  • Quarterly -5%: Serves as the liaison between the grant funder and Broward College related to the Corrections to College program.
  • Weekly -5%: Performs other duties as assigned.
