ROLE of the POSITION

The DEMSN Enrollment and Student Success Coordinator reports to the Director of Student Services and works closely with the student services team. This position has daily contact with prospective and current students, university services staff, faculty, academic staff, and administrators. An individual in this role must function independently with little or no supervision, be self-motivated and highly organized, display professional communication skills and maintain a courteous, positive attitude in the workplace. An ideal candidate will also maximize the use of computer technologies while performing tasks. Functions include managing the complete recruiting and admissions cycle for students in the DEMSN program and working in collaboration with faculty and staff throughout the school to plan, develop, and coordinate programs and services that assist students in the successful completion of their academic experience within the school. This position provides a personalized experience to enhance engagement and a sense of connectedness among students in the program.

Duties include but not limited to:

Work with students from inquiry through final acceptance in the application process. Which includes the basic how and where to apply but also advise students on prerequisites that they've completed, making sure that the prospective student is aware of the prerequisites that may need to be completed and the requirements for those prerequisites. Be the point of contact for questions about the application process and knowledgeable about the overall process throughout the application cycle.

Working with students and graduate college to ensure the correct courses are enrolled each semester and all Graduate College paperwork for students completed in a timely manner. Working with faculty and other university staff to be able to help students with any issues regarding study skills, time management, and Graduate College processes. Work closely with the Student Success Facilitators for the BSN students to ensure the undergraduate pieces of the student's education are understood as well as the graduate side. This program is prelicensure but also leads to an MSN so knowledge of both are necessary.

Plan and implement student events. Events include Orientation and Recognition for DEMSN students three times per year as well as 'touch point' events to keep students engaged. These may include monthly check-in events via Zoom or in person, 'Food for Finals' events, and any additional engagement events as necessary. Work closely with the Director and Events committee to plan and implement these activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1-3 years of professional experience preferred Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
