Job Profile Summary

This administrative position serves in a senior campus officer capacity reporting to the Campus President for the planning and implementation of administrative and management functions relating to business operations. This position is responsible for overseeing campus budgeting, accounting and purchasing operations and affairs, and accomplishes such in coordination with the college's mission, goals and initiatives. Performs related work as directed.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Master’s degree with a concentration in business or a directly related field.  

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • A minimum of seven years of administrative management experience preferably in the areas of higher education facilities maintenance and budget operations.  
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily - 15%: Provides effective leadership to the college community in fulfilling the mission of the college as related to the short and long-range initiatives of the Division of Business Affairs.
  • Daily - 15%: Leads campus administrators and supervisors in the development and management of budgets, accounting procedures and business reports for the campus; authorizes department payrolls and campus-wide purchases.
  • Weekly - 15%: Works collaboratively with district and campus administrators in campus planning in general and specifically in the campus planning of new facilities, renovating and remodeling of current facilities, the management of construction in progress and other CIP and CIF funded projects.
  • Other - 10%: Responsible for people management of the area, including recommendation of staffing, hiring, termination and discipline, setting performance standards and evaluating staff, and staff development.
  • Weekly - 10%: Directs the scheduling of facilities use and events on the campus facilitating partnerships with educational institutions, community and private organizations while creating revenue opportunities.
  • Weekly - 10%: Represents the campus in various civic, community and professional organizations at the local, state and national level to promote the mission and goals of the college and campus. Serves on and chairs various campus and district committees.
  • Daily - 10%: Works collaboratively with district in the operation of campus safety, maintenance, grounds/landscape and custodial functions.
  • Daily - 10%: Administers collective bargaining agreement with trade union on campus level; recommends additions, deletions and revisions of business affairs policies and procedures.
  • Other - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.

  • Builds partnerships in support of the Campus initiatives
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, staff and community partners
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data as it relates to the campus operation  
  • Models inclusive excellence through specific actions that support the College’s diversity goals in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of talented and diverse faculty and staff 
  • Recruits, trains and retains superior quality administrators and staff
  • Provides leadership, supervision, professional development opportunities, and evaluation of the associate deans, directors, managers, and staff
  • Oversees multiple academic or business affairs departments, units or centers
  • Develops and administers several large departmental budget(s) and State/Federal grants
  • Works directly with contractual provisions, interpreting contract language and working with faculty to ensure contract provisions are met
  • Has full responsibility to oversight of units
  • Responsible for the protection and safe-keeping of confidential data acquired during the course of work
