Job Description:

Reporting to the Senior Data Strategy & Solutions manager, the Data Analyst serves as a key subject matter expert for identifying and resolving data issues. The Data Analyst maintains the day to day resolution of data quality exception reports and deduplication issues that arise. The Data Analyst is responsible for data and impact analysis as well as solutioning for data anomalies and data clean up.
As part of a data management team focused on data governance, data quality, and reporting, the Data Analyst provides support to the ongoing refinement of internal best practices by developing close partnerships internally and externally. The Data Analyst is a liaison between Berklee’s business areas and other technical areas to assess data needs and requirements used within business processes and interpret how the data is impacted across the board. This position plays a key role in performing data quality assurance, systems testing, and user acceptance activities.
The Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining industry knowledge and will participate as a key subject matter expert in Berklee’s enterprise data discussions. In addition, the Data Analyst will work on and sometimes manage various data projects based on Enterprise Technology Services’ project portfolio. This position will be a critical player working directly with the Senior Data Strategy & Solutions Manager to establish an enterprise data strategy for the institution.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business systems, computer science, information technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of data analysis experience.

  • 5+ years of experience managing projects and/or processes in support of data integrity.

  • 3+ years of preparing, analyzing, and translating data insights.    

Essential Functions/Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain day to day completion of data integrity audit reports. 

  • Responsible for resolving duplicate records working with a cross platform team to ensure accurate identity management.

  • Identify data issues and formulate strategies to address the issues and improve internal processes.  

  • Complete data analysis to support data quality and insight or as needed.

  • Provide ad hoc assistance to team members for their data needs

  • Support data mart/data warehouse implementation with support, planning, and development. 

  • Collaborate with integration teams to troubleshoot data issues. 

  • Collaborate with programming teams for system clean up.

  • Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data. 

  • Ability to use graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data and tell a story.

  • Ability to extract, load, and analyze data from multiple sources. 

  • Create, document, and maintain data integrity processes and error resolution guides.       

  • Follow Enterprise Systems guidelines.

  • Participate as a member of the institution’s data governance committees.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms with both technical and functional teams.

  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities and tasks

  • Knowledge of common data quality practices

  • Experience with SaaS solutions such as Workday a plus

  • SQL, Javascript, or programming experience a plus

  • Higher Education experience preferred

  • This position may provide an opportunity for limited remote work.
