Position Summary

UNM Information Technologies is looking for a Salesforce Developer to join a dynamic support team to enhance student success at the University of New Mexico using the University’s CRM (Constituent Relationship Management) solution, Salesforce. 
 
The Salesforce Developer will be responsible for creating custom solutions and integrations that address the specific needs of academic and administrative departments, taking into account the shared Salesforce instance. The developer will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, design technical solutions, and create custom code, triggers, and Lightning components to enhance the UNM Salesforce ecosystem.  
 
The successful applicants will have good communication skills, expertise in one or multiple CRM application development/integration/automation, and a clear sense of customer service. A thorough understanding of the values, practices, security and procedures found in a higher education environment, and a commitment to mentoring and developing technical staff is also desirable.  
Job Responsibilities:  

  • Develop Salesforce feature configuration and custom solutions to meet specific UNM needs.  
  • Manage integrations to ensure data synchronization and seamless data flow between instances.  
  • Use Apex coding for various triggers, classes, and batch processes to enhance functionality and automation, including visualforce pages and lightning components.  
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build flows and automation and manage sharing rules.  
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand department-specific requirements and align development with the Salesforce instance overall strategy.  
  • Use REST/SOAP API Integration to connect with external applications, data sources, and services, ensuring data security.  
  • Monitor performance of custom code and applications to ensure efficient operation and optimization. 
  • Manage version control for changes, conduct testing and deploy code.  
  • Maintain documentation of custom code, configurations and integrations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

As demonstrated by supporting documentation (cover letter, resume):  

  • Knowledge and experience with Salesforce CRM and/or TargetX. 
  • Knowledge and experience with middleware integration platforms (Boomi, Mulesoft, or Informatica). 
  • Knowledge and experience with web front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React). 
  • Understanding of application integration strategies and techniques, theories, principles, and practices including experience with various integration mechanisms. 
  • Functional and technical experience with system and data integration/architecture including design and development of ETL, API (REST and SOAP), MDM, B2B EDI, microservice, and workflow automation. 
  • Experience with DevSecOps including its principles, code versioning, continuous integration, and continuous deployment/delivery. 
  • Experience with all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including application design, configuration, customization, integration, testing and support including, but not limited to, gathering requirements, designing the future state solution, the development objects related to their process scope, as well as supporting testing and post implementation support. 
  • Ability to obtain results and add value to the organization by being accessible to and supportive of others, setting clear goals and monitoring goals’ progress, and making timely and sound decisions and influencing others. 
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills (able to communicate ideas with senior personnel, able to create and deliver persuasive web architectures and models, able to gain consensus, etc.).
