Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Coordinator, under the supervision of the Business Manager, is responsible for day-to-day administrative support for post-award management. This position is responsible for efficiently maintaining all subcontract, consultant, and procurement activities for sponsored projects and contracts, creating expense transfers, tracking grant cycle deadlines, posting and monitoring external fellowships administered through the Student Award System, and reviewing and approving faculty procurement cards and externally funded travel. The Coordinator will be responsible for initial account set up, working with Business Office staff responsible for human subject compensation, and BA data entry for post-award expenses and account reconciliation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience performing a combination of business operations (payroll, accounting, travel, and/or purchasing), preferably in an institution of higher education.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • A successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple, sometimes competing priorities, and provide excellent outcomes within required time frames.
Preferences:
Preferences:
  • Experience with Priority BA, WorkDay and Concur.
  • Familiarity with UMD administrative systems, policies, and procedures is desired but not required.
  • Familiarity with federal regulations including Uniform Guidance and the FARs.

Salary Range for this position is low to mid $60Ks.

Physical Demands
Sedentary work performed in a normal office environment that requires long periods of sitting in front of a computer and use of keyboard. Ability to attend meetings both on and off campus.
