About the Job

The Coordinator of Candidate Supports within the School of Education Professions (SEP) is a fully remote, half-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Dean of SEP. The Coordinator oversees the complete management cycle for several critical documents in support of the teacher candidate experience during and after program completion.  This position also supports program administration with various tasks related to program reports, documentation, and stakeholder communications.  At times this position will be interacting with K-12 partners, cooperating teachers, teacher candidates, state departments of education and CCU colleagues primarily by phone, email, or ZOOM meetings.  
 
This position will require that the individual work a flexible schedule not to exceed 20 hours per week over a twelve-month period.

  • We’re looking for candidates who have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education
  • Teacher licensure (current or recent) and recent experience in a Prek-12 setting is preferred
  • Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent document organization and data management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work positively and effectively as a team member and as an individual contributor
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion and maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA, university policies, and professional ethical standards
  • Ability to learn and effectively use the various university systems including MS Office (especially Excel), online learning management systems, ZOOM, and other web-based applications
  • Understanding of educator licensure processes in Colorado
  • Passion for Prek-20 education and dedication to student success
  • An approachable and proactive demeanor while delivering prompt accurate and kind customer service to all stakeholders (students, faculty, CCU staff, school districts, etc.)
  • Ability to be self-driven in a remote/virtual work environment while effectively managing multiple tasks

  • Key Job Duties

In this role, the Coordinator of Candidate Supports contributes to the mission by contributing to the efficient processing of program and licensure-critical forms, as well as fostering timely communication with stakeholders, to ensure that our candidates are completing their academic and professional goals in the most seamless and customer-centric manner possible.
  • Manage the workflow of field experience Memorandums of Understanding, Certificates of Insurance, etc. with partner school districts and systems.
  • Assist in the records management of specified field placement forms.
  • Advise teacher candidates on School of Education field experience processes and requirements.
  • Manage the workflow for specified Colorado Department of Education-required reports, forms, etc. 
  • Develop communications, as needed, to assist teacher candidates in their pursuit of field experience completion.
  • Interact with CCU field coaches, as needed, to assist in field-related issues.
  • Manage the Approved Program Verification process for all licensure program graduates.
  • Work with Alternative Licensure candidates to successfully prepare their Statement of Assurance forms for SEP administrator approval.
  • Support SEP administration with special projects as assigned.     

  • Work Environment

    This remote position requires working from a CCU-provided computer for many hours at a time. You may be required to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends.  Remote employees are not required to travel to CCU’s main campus for work. 
     
    What we offer our employees:

    Pay and benefits will be discussed in more detail as candidates progress through the interview process. F Pay will be assigned at a range of $20.00 - $22.00 per hour. Pay is assigned by reviewing a combination of job-related factors that may include: internal/external pay equity, the salary structure/pay grade, or a candidate’s qualifications/experience for the job. A wage range posted is not a guarantee of a specific wage and CCU reserves the right to make pay decisions based on economic and equity considerations. CCU does not determine pay based on sex or any other protected status.

    Spiritual Requirements

  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
  • Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
  • Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church. Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
  • Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.
