PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Under general direction, performs highly responsible and advanced professional duties as a supervisor of several major architectural programs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·         Supervises, coordinates and directs the development and preparation of design drawings and contract documents for several major architectural programs.

·         Consults with the project managers, client agencies and funding sources to determine project requirements.

·         Reviews and evaluates design and construction documents for major architectural programs for alignment with CCC academic vision goals.

·         Prepare ADA survey to plan for corrective measures to implement.

·         Analyzes and reviews plans, designs and specifications.

·         Represents Administrative Services at all ADA meetings with campuses.

·         Coordinates the planning and development of annual architectural program budgets.

·         Manage projects from design through construction.

·         Advises construction managers on technical issues.

·         Supervises the preparation of administrative and technical reports.

·         Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a directly related degree, supplemented by four years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in the planning, coordination and development of major architectural programs, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.

·         Comprehensive knowledge of architectural theories, practices and procedures; architectural design, site development and administration; and construction materials. Specialized knowledge of ADA requirements is preferred.

·          Must possess proficient knowledge and technical skills on operating a Computer Aided Drafting system (AutoCad or later version).

·         Must have the ability to plan, supervise and inspect the work of subordinate personnel; prepare clear and concise technical and professional reports; establish effective working relationships with consultants and government representatives.

·         Must have comprehensive skills in the application of architectural theory to practical architectural problems; planning, organizing and administering complex architectural projects.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Must be able to work well with administrators and others at all levels and be able to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy.

·         Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of construction management experience.
