College of Health Professions and Sciences, Dean's Office:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Health Professions and Sciences (CHPS) is dedicated to teaching innovations and research partnerships. The college offers accredited programs in athletic coaching, athletic training, communication sciences and disorders, physical therapy, and social work. CHPS also offers one of UCF’s largest majors, health sciences, as well as popular programs in sport and exercise science within the field of kinesiology. Through coursework, field experience, and inter-professional education, our students develop high-demand skills in healthcare and cultural competency for working with diverse populations.

The Opportunity:

The UCF College of Health Professions and Sciences is seeking qualified candidates for a Contracts and Grants Specialist II position. Under the direction of the Contracts and Grants Specialist IV and the Associate Dean for Research, the Contracts and Grants Specialist II will assist faculty, students, and staff with activities related to sponsored research proposals, programs, and projects as well as other research-related college activities, including events and training.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Post-Award administration of CHPS-sponsored projects, including but not limited to deliverable monitoring, budget transfers, no-cost extensions, processing of non-competing continuations, supplements, other award/agreement (e.g., DUA) amendments, and sub-award initiation, monitoring, and modification.

  • Serve as liaison with other department and college staff to monitor and facilitate sponsored research activities.

  • Assist in the review, development, and/or coordination of sponsored research proposals with faculty, staff, and students (Biosketches, current and pending supports, facilities, etc.).

  • Maintain internal systems' information for accuracy and is up-to-date by running financial reports and monitoring PI grant-related activities.

  • Provide unit support activities, including supporting the Associate Dean of Research and the CHPS Research Council, and coordinating/offering research education trainings/workshops/events.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6) . 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.

  • Microsoft Office experience.

  • Higher education work experience.

  • Workday experience.
