JOB DESCRIPTION: 

  • Make strategic decisions regarding key messages, topics to feature, Coalition members to promote, and activities for the Program to engage in.
  • Manage all aspects of communications function including, budget, workflow protocols, and systems that streamline content production, placement, and management using Google Workspace and Smartsheet.
  • Increase external visibility of Coalition activities among its partner organizations.
  • Develop, manage, and cultivate a balanced content calendar that takes into account original content, newsletter, social media, and external content that accurately reflects the breadth of activities Coalition members are engaged in across different health campaign domains.
  • Manage design and production of print and digital materials (newsletter, reports, presentations, one-pagers, etc.)
  • Supervise and provide direction to interns and consultants.
  • Contribute to planning, execution, and promotion of hybrid and virtual events hosted by the Program, including meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposiums.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal communications groups across the Task Force and among partner organizations, to communicate with diplomacy and tact to encourage cooperation from team and colleagues in order to meet deadlines and objectives, and produce the highest quality deliverables on behalf of the Program.
  • Foster advocacy for effective promising health campaign practices among strategic partners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, art or other related field.
  • Five years of experience in the development of marketing and informational materials, writing/research, project management and/or information technology.
  • Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of publishing and other related software.
  • Demonstrated creativity in the design of marketing, public relations or educational programs and communications materials.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five (5) years of experience in communication or related role preferably in international development, global health, or a related field.
  • Experience in journalism, reporting, multimedia production, design of marketing, public relations or educational programs, and communications materials.
  • Proven success in designing and creating effective communications products, websites, and related collateral to reach the intended audience.
  • Proven ability to synthesize information to develop clear messaging on highly technical subjects for a variety of target audiences.
  • Understanding and experience in knowledge management and knowledge translation are highly desirable.

 

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work.  Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
