Position Summary

Michigan State University Honors College – one of the country’s most distinctive and extensive honors programs – serving academically talented, committed students who wish to pursue and achieve academic excellence, invites applications for the position of College Records Officer I.  This position will primarily be responsible for coordinating activities for the academic and advancement areas of the College as related to student enrollment, scholarships/awards and student academic records. 

  • Responsible for coordination of posting student scholarships in the scholarship system, track progress of awards in system, follow up with students, track acknowledgements to donors and interact with advancement; liaise with Office of Financial Aid, verify student releases to remove awards when necessary - 30%
  • Support Advancement activities related to donor communication and event planning, collecting data, and generating reports – 25%
  • Process Honors options, assist with new student orientation, coordinating various coding processes in various university systems, manage student lists, run queries for student and/or donor tracking – 30%
  • Coordinate course and classroom scheduling for Honors College offerings; coordinate and manage submissions and notifications for Honors College Research Seminar program 10%
  • Other support duties as assigned – 5%

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a bachelor’s degree in a field related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience with student recordkeeping systems and/or enrollment management; experience with word processing, database and/or spreadsheet software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
