Are you passionate about curating and shaping library collections? Do you have an understanding of collection development, data visualization, and information management? As the Collections Strategist Librarian, you will have the primary responsibility of holistically assessing library collections for their relevance to the university curriculum and research priorities. You will research and implement new collection services and strategies to ensure our collections remain current and relevant. Opportunities to Contribute:

  • Identify and analyze institutional data, usage, and other metrics, to help the Libraries make informed, data-driven decisions in a variety of contexts

  • Analyze investments in various parts of the collection and the impact of textbook affordability and open access programs, demand-driven, evidence-based, and/or other dynamic collections models

  • Work to highlight and promote new resources

  • Participate and pursue contributions to the Library profession in areas of professional development, research, and/or services

Qualifications: 

Assistant Librarian

  • Master’s degree in Library Science

Associate Librarian

  • Master’s degree in Library Science

  • Five years of experience in an academic or research library or equivalent

A well-qualified candidate for either of these positions will also possess: 

  • Knowledge of academic library functions

  • Experience with collection development, acquisitions, and vendor relations

  • Ability to work with/process large sets of data and analyze trends and issues with said data

  • Experience with visualization of data

  • Experience in project management

  • Knowledge of SQL query building

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of customers and employees

Minimum starting salary:

Assistant Librarian: $62,900.00 annually

Associate Librarian: $72,335.00 annually
