Posting Summary	RCSB Protein Data Bank is seeking a highly motivated Scientist with expert knowledge of the rcsb.org website including the deposition process and all user facing functionality. This position will involve collaboration with a team of scientists, software developers, and the rcsb.org user community. The candidate should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, and able to demonstrate an ability to think creatively, generate new ideas, and implement solutions to address user issues. The candidate should enjoy working with scientific data and engaging with scientists to solve problems for RCSB PDB external users. Responsibilities: * Serve as a subject-matter expert on the rcsb.org user environment and structural biology. * Communicate professionally with the RCSB PDB user community on a daily basis. * Evaluate and maintain appropriate workflows for external user problems. * Optimize the workflow for support and customer service issues in the rcsb.org environment. * Serve as a liaison between the RCSB PDB user community and the RCSB PDB development team.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	Ph.D. in a related scientific discipline
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Ability to deliver weekly reports regarding volume, nature of inquiry, and responses related to helpdesk operations for the RCSB PDB. Ability to problem solve with users, to ensure the best experience possible. Experience with the rcsb.org website from perspective of a depositor and as a user of the rcsb.org resources from an educational and scientific perspective. Ability to communicate user experience to the RCSB PDB development staff.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
