Clinical Lab Supervisor-East Hampton

BRIEF SUMMARY:

Provide Laboratory services to meet the needs of patients as ordered by the medical staff and performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices; direct, supervise, and coordinate functions and activities in any or all divisions of the Clinical Laboratory.

SPECIAL SKILLS OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• For new East Hampton Location
• Consult with and keep the Laboratory Director informed of activities, needs, and problems.
• Consult with medical staff and other health care providers on matters relating to laboratory services.
• Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the Laboratory Administrative or Assistant Administrative Director.
• Establish department objectives, performance standards, and goals.
• Assist in development and implementation of established policies and procedures.
• Maintain quality control of tests and establish service priorities, work routines, and monitor workflow to assure prompt and efficient delivery of services.
• Communicate with health care providers to ensure problems are resolved and their needs addressed.
• Assure compliance by personnel with professional, hospital, and departmental standards, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with the NY State Dept. of Health, College of American Pathologists, and the Joint Commission of the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. Update department manuals as needed. Evaluate Department performance and initiate, recommend, and effect measures to improve services and quality of current methodologies.
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited university.
• NYS ED Clinical Laboratory Technologist License.

Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements: 

• Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
• Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
• Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen*
• Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
• Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

 Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.

StaffCo is a Professional Employer Organization, commonly referred to as a PEO.
