Salary Range : $33,954 - $43,800 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

Summary

The City Employee Medical Clinic is currently seeking a medical receptionist who will serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and the community. The medical receptionist will create a positive impression toward patients, their dependents and staff while providing front desk tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, obtaining demographic information, patient registration process, scheduling, and a variety of clerical duties. Sometimes this may also include relaying provider information to patients.

 

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Answers phone and schedules appointments.
  • Registering patients and obtaining patient demographics.
  • Checks-in patients upon arrival for appointment using the EHR system Nextgen.
  • Performs daily review of clinic schedules to ensure proper patient flow in clinic.
  • Works with the clinical team to triage phone calls.
  • Works with clinical team to implement clinic processes and maintain efficient workflow.
  • Enters data from client paperwork.
  • Verifies patient insurance and chart prep for future appointments notating all required paperwork.
  • Maintains sufficient office supply inventory, and all paperwork necessary for patients.
  • Post copays and charges at the end of every day and preparing the deposit for pick-up every Thursday.
 

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of general clerical experience
  • One year of experience as medical front desk and/or medical administration

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-3 years in a front desk healthcare setting
  • 1 year experience with an EHR  

 

Physical Requirements

The employee will be frequently required to be sitting. Occasionally standing and walking to the back of the clinic. Involves looking at a computer screen and being on the phone for most of the day. Occasionally having to lift up to 20 pounds.
