College or Health Professions and Sciences:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Health Professions and Sciences (CHPS) is home to nationally recognized programs focused on health and wellness ― and a respected faculty dedicated to teaching innovations and research partnerships. The college offers accredited programs in athletic coaching, athletic training, communication sciences and disorders, physical therapy, and social work. CHPS also offers one of UCF’s largest majors, health sciences, as well as popular programs in sport and exercise science within the field of kinesiology. Through coursework, field experience, and inter-professional education, our students develop high-demand skills in healthcare and cultural competency for working with diverse populations.

The Opportunity:

The UCF College of Health Professions and Sciences is seeking qualified candidates for a Career Development Coordinator. This position provides academic and administrative support for programs and services provided by undergraduate affairs at the College of Health Professions and Sciences.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate academic success workshops, programs, and initiatives for undergraduate students in the college.

  • Develop, coordinate, and manage career readiness and development initiatives and programs, and research engagement for undergraduate students in the college.

  • Develop, coordinate, and manage experiential learning initiatives and events for undergraduate students in the college.

  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain up-to-date information on the application process and admission requirements for graduate programs in health professions.

  • Manage and coordinate the process of updating and training student support staff on pre-health professions preparation, application, and admission process. That includes the development of a structured process to ensure up-to-date training of staff members who work with CHPS students.

  • Coordinate and communicate with student support offices at UCF in planning college-specific student engagement initiatives.

  • Develop reports and analyze data to evaluate and improve student professional development and career readiness programs and initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned and as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree, and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and coordinating undergraduate student success initiatives and programs at a university level.

  • Experience in working with pre-health professions students, and knowledge in career preparation and application process to graduate health professions programs.

  • Experience in developing and coordinating career readiness and professional development events and initiatives for students in undergraduate health majors at a university level.

  • Experience in preparing marketing material for student success programs.

  • Experience in developing reports and assessments of student success programs.

  • Excellent collaboration skills, working as a team member, and motivating others.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.
