Description

 

This position will assist the Sr. Financial Manager/Research Administrator with general business operations of the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience and the Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic (VHTC), which is a part of the Institute. The Institute conducts research on mental health, disasters, first responders support, secondary trauma and trauma recovery and also operates the VHTC, an innovative behavioral health care clinic providing specialized services to address the mental health needs of individuals and families in our military and civilian communities.  Job duties of this position include administrative, fiscal, and human resources responsibilities and involve analytical skills and personal accountability.

Job Duties:

  • Provides human resources support such as: data input, development of job descriptions, posting and coordinating searches, facilitating hiring and onboarding processes for faculty, students, and staff of the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, and overseeing payroll functions  
  • Assists with procurement functions
  • Assists with travel arrangements and expense reports
  • Administratively supports the operational functions of the Institute as needed
  • Coordinates matters involving facilities, health and safety, information technology, human resources, and telecommunications
  • Manages/maintains small office projects and initiatives
  • Oversees the development and processing of procurement contracts
  • Researches and interprets various business and campus-related regulations, guidelines, standards, information, policies, and processes
  • Responds to staff, faculty, campus inquiries, providing guidance and recommendations
  • Prepares written professional communications as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

What We Offer:

Salary Range: Generally starting at $42,174 - $54,418

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

This position is dependent on the availability of external gift funding. 

Tentative Search Timeline:

  • The potential dates for interviews with the search committee will be the week of August 16, 2021.
  • The potential dates for interviews with the supervisor and appointing authority will be the week of August 23, 2021.
  • The potential employee start date is mid-late September.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree conferred by date of hire with a minimum of one (1) year full-time professional administrative support experience or, without a Bachelor’s, at least five (5) years of cumulative full-time experience as demonstrated in the submitted resume with professional business processes such as budget/finance administration, contract and compliance oversight, human resources coordination.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research/Sponsored program administrative support experience
  • Administrative support experience in a higher education environment
  • Greater than five (5) years’ experience in professional administrative support;
  • Experience using PeopleSoft

 

Physical Requirement:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit.  Employee is occasionally required to move, and maneuver in confined spaces including moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and fine motor skills. Tasks may involve using a computer screen continuously for long periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
