Operational Excellence and Assessment Support:
The mission of OEAS is to support efforts to improve the quality of student learning outcomes and the effectiveness and efficiency of University operations through assessment and analytics. OEAS will accomplish this by providing support to all academic programs and administrative units through integrated processes that include continuous quality improvement, analytical and survey studies, technology integration and guidance in assessment.
The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic team of professionals in Operational Excellence and Assessment Support dedicated to providing actionable insights to UCF decision makers responsible for improving student learning outcomes and operational excellence. This position is housed in Operational Excellence and Assessment Support (OEAS), a unit within the Division of Academic Affairs.
This Business Data Analyst I will have the responsibility to identify relationships among factors and trends to improve academic and university operations. This is accomplished by preparing data sets and using appropriate statistical methods for data analysis, interpretation, and reporting results using graphs, charts, and tables within enterprise-wide Business Intelligence web applications to enhance decision-making capacity.
We are seeking candidates who have a research methodology or analysis background. We especially welcome candidates with professional or educational experience in data analysis.
Responsibilities:
Prepares data sets for analysis and reporting by merging variables from different sources and verifying data quality and data integrity by identifying and resolving data errors.
Uses statistical and analytical software and programming tools to develop and maintain enterprise level Business Intelligence applications and their underlying databases. Uses Business Intelligence and data analysis software such as Tableau to create visual representations of information.
Assists with designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-wide Business Intelligence tools, such as OEAS Knowledgebase, to present statistical results, deliver visualizations, and analytical reports to university stakeholders. Assists in creating database architecture; meta data repository; new or enhanced data warehouse components; and in Business Intelligence testing protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with any of the following:
A Master's degree in Statistics, Political Science, Sociology, Data Science, Psychology, or a related field is preferred. Coursework in Statistics, Research Methods, Regression, or Logistic Regression is a plus.
Previous experience in research or higher education.
Demonstrated experience working with large datasets, performing detailed data analysis, data cleansing and reporting.
Demonstrated knowledge of statistical methods, survey design, and survey analysis and reporting techniques.
Demonstrated proficiency in SAS or R.
Demonstrated proficiency in Qualtrics and Tableau.
Effective verbal and graphical communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with faculty and staff at all levels.
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
