The Business Administrator I, under general supervision, manages the full range of business activities including reviewing and approving business documents and developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts, budgets and other quantitative data.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Five years of related experience in general office, accounting or personnel operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a finance, accounts receivable or clinical environment.

  • Experience using bookkeeping or accounting software.

  • Ability to learn new processes and technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Financial Operations: Supports clinical revenue cycle activity for the School of Dentistry, including monthly revenue recognition, budget analyses and projections, and billing/reconciliation for third party contracts. Prepares and analyzes monthly clinical revenue and other productivity reports. Supports annual fiscal year clinic-related closing activities. Proposes solutions on complex financial problems. Manages cash handling activities. Serves as liaison with School and University financial units. Interprets System policies and regulations and University rules. Contributes to the creation of complex administrative, financial, and statistical analyses and summary reports. Manages maintenance of business files. Serves as a resource to department and clinic staff for reporting and reconciliation of clinical accounts.

  • Clinical Business Services Lead: Assists with dental provider productivity reporting and credentialing processes. Develops goals and objectives. Resolves clinical finance operational and procedural financial problems. Identifies clinic business-related needs and problems and proposes solutions. Implements established business procedures and trains staff on new and existing procedures. Provides advice on administrative and fiscal procedures.

  • Financial Reporting: Analyzes financial data and compiles financial reports. Checks fiscal documents, closes books, and performs clinical finance audits. Locates and corrects clinic-related problems in records. Serves as liaison between School of Dentistry clinical departments
