The College of Education is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join the Office of the Dean as the Director of Operations. The College, located within a large, research oriented, land-grant University, is committed to making life better for all citizens. As such, the College is seeking a Director or Operations to provide strategic oversight and direction to the functional areas of communication, information technology, facilities, and the Dean's administrative assistant staff. This new position reports directly to the Dean of the College. With the support of the Dean's Executive Assistant, the Director of Operations coordinates the execution of College-wide projects undertaken by the Dean as well as handling questions, concerns, issues and requests on the Dean's behalf. The Director of Operations works to improve processes and guidelines and directs and leads long term organizational planning projects and serves as a member of the Dean's senior leadership team. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus seven years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must be a self-starter with excellent communications skills, writing skills and supervisory/management experience. Excellent project management skills and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task is necessary. Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior level officials within the College and University; ability to work quickly and accurately under deadline pressures.
